To get to know Steve better, we asked him some tough (and fun) questions. See what he had to say!

What is your favorite part about working at Shipment Trackers?
Steve: I really enjoy our team. As with any business, it can take time to get the right team of people who share the same common goal and are awesome at what they do. I am grateful to the team I have around me today because together we continue to grow our business year over year in a very competitive industry.

What led you to this career?
Steve: For 15 years I worked in the transportation industry. I started as a package handler at RPS (Roadway Package System) in 1989. I loaded and unloaded trailers, sorted packages, and even delivered packages when needed. In 1998, RPS had become FedEx Ground. When I left in 2000, I had managed hundreds of dock workers and delivery drivers in various management positions. I had responsibilities in sales, employee management, and budget. From 2000 to 2004, I worked in the freight business at Watkins Motor Lines. In 2004, my very good friend, Andy Swartz, who I had met at RPS, asked me to join Shipment Trackers and lead the sales effort to grow the company. I had a great background for this new career, just needed to trust that Shipment Trackers could be a success. Well, 16 years later and hundreds of clients, I can say mission accomplished!

What work-related accomplishment are you most proud of?
Steve: I am most proud of our continued growth. We are in a very competitive business. Our clients get phone calls and emails from our competitors all the time. However, each year we have managed to increase our revenue through keeping our current clients satisfied, gaining new clients, and adding new service offerings.

What is the best piece of career advice you have ever received?
Steve: The harder you work the luckier you get.

Where was your very first job?
Steve: Newspaper delivery or Burger King. I am not sure which came first!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Steve: When I was child, I wanted to be a medical technologist.
